The monolith
In science fiction the monolith is described as being made from an unknown material and being sized exactly proportionally as: one by four by nine units.
Overall dimensions changed from encounter to encounter, but the monolith proportions always remain the same. This ratio of one by four by nine is explained as the square root values of the first three numbers one, two, and three.
This exact ratio, regardless of size is meant to signify that the monolith cannot be a naturally occurring phenomenon and that it must be artificially created.
It’s creation and existence therefore, denotes intent and intelligence.
This monolith piece is a combination of stone and wood, naturally occurring materials shaped to create a small-scale, accurate representation of the monolith of science fiction.

The carved wood base and stone monolith combine creating a striking display piece that can be accentuated with the included action figures made by Super 7.
The monolith is designed to be installed and removed from its wood base using only your hands (do not use any tools). Firm pressure is required during fitment.
The wood will change dimensionally with the ambient humidity and the fit of the monolith to its base will change so be mindful of this when installing or removing it from its base and make any changes slowly.
This piece is one of ten created in either stained hickory or sealed walnut wood, all having slate stone monoliths. Number one in the series being reserved for myself as both initial prototype proof, and personal display piece.
These ten monolith sets are each unique due to their construction from natural materials, and will exhibit their own individual details and minor inherent defects.
